FinExpertiza Serbia joined the Kopaonik Business Forum

FinExpertiza Serbia took part in the Kopaonik Business Forum, the largest and most significant event in the region. The Forum is an event dedicated to improving the performance of the Serbian economy through analytical contributions and dialogue between relevant stakeholders. The theme of the 30th anniversary event was "Economic resilience in uncertain times - key challenges for Serbia and the Western Balkans".

Maja Marić, director and partner of FinExpertiza Serbia, singled out environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility as the keynote themes of the Forum. "These are among the main topics that directly relate to our profession. Non-financial reporting and ESG compliance regulations are becoming more stringent and Serbian companies will need to be ready to meet the upcoming reporting requirements. In this sense, the role of the auditor is also important from the aspect of auditing and assurance in terms of disclosures in non-financial reports in accordance with ESG principles," Maja Marić explained.

During the four forum days, close to two hundred speakers from the academic community discussed macroeconomic policy trends in Serbia, the future of the EU and the Western Balkans, the economic agenda for the Open Balkans initiative, the readiness of companies to work with the Generation Z, the resilience of the Serbian economy, energy security, etc. The Forum also touched on the issue of the extinction of traditional occupations and their replacement by artificial intelligence.

In the three decades of the Kopaonik Business Forum, more than 400 panels have been held with the participation of about 4,000 speakers and more than 15,000 delegates. These numbers showcase the Forum as the most significant event in the region, which gathers renowned experts and eminent names from the domestic and regional economic and political scene.
